Dr. John M. Tedeschi, now retired, has been recognized nationally as a distinguished leader in the healthcare industry for his contributions to pediatric medicine. An innovator in business practices, Dr. Tedeschi developed strategies that optimize operational efficiency and allow physicians to devote more time to patient care.
 
In 1998, Dr. Tedeschi founded Advocare, LLC, one of the largest independent physician groups in the Northeast, and Continuum Health Alliance, LLC, an ambulatory care services company. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of both companies.
 
Dr. Tedeschi completed his pediatric internship and residency at Cooper University Hospital. He remained a member of the Cooper medical staff for over 40 years and served on Cooper’s Board of Trustees. His passion for improving maternal and neonatal healthcare also led him to found and serve on the Board of Directors of the Southern NJ Perinatal Cooperative.
 
Additionally, Dr. Tedeschi contributed much of his time to Virtua Health, through his roles as Chief of Pediatrics and Chief of Staff, and through his decade-long membership of the Virtua Health Board of Trustees and the Virtua Health Physician Council. Dr. Tedeschi also served in many positions for Virtua’s predecessor organizations, most notably Chief of Pediatrics at Garden State Community Hospital and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at West Jersey Hospital-Voorhees.
 
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Tedeschi served as medical director or board member of many community organizations and was appointed to various roles in the New Jersey Department of Health. Selected often by “top” lists and publications both locally and nationally, Dr. Tedeschi won numerous awards for his medical and humanitarian work, recognizing his dedication to the excellence and advancement of pediatric healthcare.
 
Dr. Tedeschi was raised in Camden, New Jersey and has maintained strong ties to the region. Following his residency at Cooper University Hospital, he spent four years of service as an Air Force Medical Corps pediatrician, and in 1968, he joined Dr. Ronald M. Bernardin’s Collingswood practice, now known as Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics. Dr. Tedeschi remains in the area, enjoying retirement with his wife of over 60 years, Geraldine.
